on his way to the dorm seina gets
caught up in a stampede and dragged into a nearby jungle like forest
where he is attacked by dangerous animals only to be saved by a
poacher who tries to capture him, he escapes and finds himself back
at the dorm.
seto calls kiriko and tasks her with taking care of seina's finances before depositing the massive multi million dollar reward he had earned from the capture of all those pirates. kiriko notices that the figures are actually low and seto raises the figure into the billions. she transfers 1/1000th of the money to his parents.
back on earth his family freaks out over the large stack of money that they receive and the massive amount they have made with seina gone.
The administrator of the dorm finds seina and takes him to his room, his roommates welcome him but he is ambushed by the leaders of the kiriko amane and ryoko fan club, they are chased off by the dorm administrator and he goes inside to settle into his new dorm. inside he finds he has been given an NB, A sort of ai robot which is supposed to assist him with keeping up with legal standards and practices.
his roommates kenneth and rajau explain it to him and also confirm that it is made out of a material used in android porn so it can probably change into a humanoid shape.
they then show him the food system and check his account balance and find that he surprisingly has enough money in it that the average person could live for a year off of it. they go to order their food and seina accidentally orders a ridiculous amount of food.
Airi receives notice from mikami that he greatest enemy, Widow, along with a barrage of human hunters and assassins had infiltrated the academy, Airi hates her because On Airai, widow had caused a mass suicide event that started a rebellion. When Airi's father went to stop the rebellion the entire colony disappeared. Airai as a nation was pretty much wiped out after that.
Seto's defense fleet is sent to the academy to defend seina.
seina is called for an interview by the fan club members and it's interrupted by airi who tells him in private not to disclose anything about tenchi's family on earth, airi also attempts to make seina look at her naked in the bath as she does this.
alan and the three idiots use the picture of ryoko balta that they acquired to start a fanatic cult with the help of widow as their secretary.
after the interview seina's roommates set up his nb and then try to use it to hack into the dorm security system so they can escape to the city as part of a newbie student tradition. during the setup seina messes up entering his id number and it locks up.
they figure out that the reason he ordered too much food was because he is seeing the wrong numbers due to a glitch in his translator nano machines. he wonders why this didn't affect him calling home, he is shown the telephone and explained that it's an ancient antique from the great historic civilization and they use their numbers for telephone numbers because it's trendy.
the numbers and phone are the same as on earth so nothing was being translated.
at the same time kiriko meets with funaho and minaho to arrange a trade for produce which can be sold on earth and used to convert seina's space money into earth money.
kiriko is teased for being so chaste towards seina, and is told that seto's accounting department wants to congratulate seina personally and presumably sexually, for his mass arrests. she goes into defense mode and checks on seina in his dorm but finds that he isn't in his dorm sleeping like he is supposed to, she rushes out to "save" him.
minaho goes back and yells at the accounting department to make sure they don't try to seduce seina.
as the boys try to escape from the dorm, kiriko sets off the security system. despite her best efforts, they are the only ones to escape, everyone but seina is hit with an ugly long lasting mark that is implied to be dr.clays symbol or an original mark made by him. everyone deems it hideous.
kirko is called to airi's office for hacking the system. the vehicle that seina and the others escape on malfunctions and breaks out the dorm walls setting off an alarm that indicates a large scale battle has broken out, this sends the academy's emergency response department into confusion, they choose to ignore it when they figure out seina's escape is the cause.
amane moves into her new island luxury apartment mansion and finds herself bored. she calls seina at the dorm and also realizes the seina there is a fake, raireza, one of the cheif designers of the guardian system, hologram calls her to check on her but she gets ready to storm off. seiryo shows up unwanted and is ignored by amane, he figures she has gone into the city with seina and so he heads into the city to find them in an armed battleship.
the boys put paper bags on their heads to cover the marks on their face.
they notice a ton of military vehicles and presume there's a military parade that night.
kiriko comes into the town and notices a large amount of human hunters trying to find seina to perform experiments on him. amane also comes in trying to find seina but finds herself tracking him to locations he just left.
the boys go to a building where a party promoting the resort planet imuim is being held, they had tickets to go but when they arrive they find they are fake.
chaos outbreaks in the city as police fight assassins and human hunters. seiryo comes into the city in a large battleship and has to be taken out using the full force of the academy's police.
kenneth and rajau get something to eat at the restaurant attached to the place for the imuim party and seina goes out alone onto the balcony where he encounters Widow who had taken on the persona of alan's ryoko cult's secretary she introduces herself and the two begin chatting as she moves in closer to capture him in a way where no one would be able to see it.
seiryo's warship is taken out and crashes into the city causing a huge earthquake, the balcony they are on deattaches from the building and falls seina instinctively rushes over to widow and embraces her to sheild her from the fall.
in a moment something clicks inside of her and her entire self image changes. she finally questions what she has done with her life. they land safely and go back inside, the two chat. seina unintentionally romances her as he explains to her how he has lived through things like that his entire life due to his bad luck. she commits to herself that she will help him.
widow kills a slew of assassins after seina and turns herself in to give a testament of her long history of crimes to airi.
as kiriko captures people coming after seina she encounters erma posing as a fake seina. the two come to the conclusion that they should capture seina and extract his personal data because if they don't then barrage of human hunters going after him will never end.
widow tells airi and mikami that she wishes her confession to be sold to raise profits to help her victims and she wants half of all her massive estate to go to seina. she gives seina the credit for capturing her and explains that he has completely rearranged her sense of values. she is taken to a secure containment cell too await a formal trial.
erma posing as seina encounters amane who sees through her disguise but seiryo finds them and interrupts and is promptly knocked out by amane. he's knocked into an underground river and washed away. seina notices him being washed away and he soon encounters erma transformed into a fake amane who takes the boys out for drinks in a lounge that also seems to double as a romantic private relations den, kirko follows after them but trails behind and loses sight of them. fake amane makes very overtly sexual passes at seina and he realizes she is acting weird and smells like erma but soon blacks out due to being drugged. the booth they are in descends to the basement.
kiriko arrives there and is outraged that seina has been brought to such a seedy place. but she is knocked out and escorted out of the property.
Seina wakes up after having his personal data captured and is lead out by erma to find his roommates who are tied up naked and oggled by young female scientists. seina declines to join them. erma is called back to the lab because his personal data becomes a sort of mega virus that begins knocking out every system in the academy when it escapes through the security hole that washu established back when she began researching others data to get mikumo back from seiniwa. a swat team comes and raids the lab involved with harvesting seina's data.
afterwords erma takes the boys home to the dorm. on the way back in they are attacked by probes seina gets a mark on his head
kiriko wakes up and finds the seedy place abandoned she tears the place apart till she finds the lift and goes down to find no one there.
erma goes over to airi's and is briefed on what is going on and told about the discovery of washu's inter-networked server. airi is told that seina's data is successfully contained.
back home seina comes out from a shower to find his roommates talking to kiriko. kiriko rushes off the call in a huff after seeing seina with a mark on his face.
she home to her apartment to go take a bath and begins talking to her left hand.
the story flashes back to recall the story of how kirko found out she was an alien.
minaho on seto's behalf had come to the village to tell tsukiko, kiriko's mother, about the shank guild launching a bio weapon at the earth. a young kiriko eves drops on katsuhito and minaho and finds out her family are aliens and overhears something about a bio weapon and rushes out against her mothers order to rush after seina who she assumes will be it's target, due to his luck. she is correct. she blocks it from attacking seina but it begins to overtake her body starting with her right hand. it begins taunting her from inside her mind as it takes over her arm. minaho finds her and severs off her arm and she blacks out.
back in the present she asks her arm what she should do about seina. she pulls up a screen to view him in his room and finds seina is having trouble sleeping, she releases nanomachines to help him sleep and buys a program to remove the mark on his face.
as she admires him while she sleeps she is surprised by amane who snuck into her place with some sake given to her by airi who tasked her with getting to know kiriko better. amane explains how seina got into space to kiriko as they drink but soon the two of them pass out because airi gave them sleeping nanomachine infused sake. washu and seto watch the two of them and washu confirms that all dormant remnants of the bio weapon virus have finally been removed from kiriko.
the book ends there.
